I felt an electrical sensation at the start of treatment or during treatment.

Didn't you attach the electrodes after starting treatment?

If you touch the output electrodes (ACs, etc.) and then touch the 0V electrode (BD), you may feel a tingling sensation caused by an electrical discharge.
Please attach the electrodes before beginning treatment.

During the treatment, did the 0V electrode ever come away from your body?

If you feel a tingling sensation from the 0V electrode BD during treatment, the 0V electrodes YD or BD may be coming loose from your body . Secure them tightly with the belt so there are no gaps.
If you need to remove the electrodes during treatment, be sure to turn off the power switch first.

The unit does not turn on even when the power switch is turned on. The display does not light up.

Are the power cord and AC/DC adapter connected properly?

  1. Plug the AC/DC adapter cord into the AC/DC adapter socket on the back of the unit to connect it.
  2. Plug the AC/DC adapter's power cord into a power outlet to connect it [ User Manual, pp. 12–13].
The display flashes and an error tone sounds.

Is the electrode plug properly connected to the socket on the main unit?

Insert the pole plate plug into the socket on the main unit to connect it [ User Manual, p. 10].

Is the pole plate cover properly attached to the belt?

Please attach the electrode cover to the inside of the strap (on the wrist side) [ User Manual, p. 10].

If you attach the electrode cover to the outside of the belt, your wrist will no longer come into contact with the electrode, and the device will interpret this as a “current flow error,” causing an error tone to sound after a short while.
Additionally, if you continue to use the device in this state, you may receive an electric shock due to static electricity building up on your body.

Is the electrode plate in close contact with your body?

Even if the plugs on each electrode plate are properly connected to the main unit, if the electrode plates are not in close contact with the body, or if the device is used in a room with low humidity, electrical current flow may be impeded. This can cause the treatment current to deviate from the appropriate range for therapeutic effectiveness, resulting in a flashing error on the display.

If the display frequently flashes an error, please wear lighter clothing or wear the device directly against your skin to ensure it fits as snugly as possible.
Also, adjust the room temperature and try moisturizing the skin where each plate is placed.

Are you removing the plates while driving?

After turning off the power switch and stopping operation, remove the electrode plates from your body.

Ifyou remove the electrode pads from your bodywhile the device is in usewithout turningoffthe power switch, the device will interpret this as an “abnormal current flow” and an error tone will sound after 30 seconds.
Additionally, if you remove the electrode pads without turning off the power switch, static electricity may build up on your body, posing a risk of electric shock.

The LED indicator on the display (which lights up blue when the power is turned on) flashes, and a notification sound plays.

If the electrodes, electrode covers, or the parts of the body in contact with the electrodes are damp, or if the room becomes humid, electrical current flows more easily, which can cause the treatment current to rise and fall outside the optimal range. While this does not pose a safety risk, it can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.

To prevent this from happening, the device will stop operating, flash its LED light, and emit an alert tone.

Are the plates and plate covers dry?

Please make sure these are thoroughly dry before proceeding with treatment.

Is the part of your body where the electrodes come into contact damp from sweat or something similar?

Before treatment, remove any moisture from the affected area by wiping away sweat or similar methods.

Is the humidity too high indoors?

Please use an air conditioner, indoor dehumidifier, or similar device to reduce humidity before beginning treatment.

About Accessories (Output Plate, 0V Plate)
What are the roles of the output plate (AC) and the 0V plates (YD/BD)?

The AC output electrode is designed to supply electrons to the body, while the 0V electrodes (YD/BD) are designed to draw electrons away from the AC output electrode. Two different types of electrodes are necessary to efficiently and effectively introduce electrons into the body.

The sound coming from the pole plates is faint.

Reltech conducts output tests on the therapy units themselves, the electrodes, and combinations of these components, and ships only those that pass these tests. Therefore, even if the unit is quiet or completely silent, it functions normally.

The sound heard from the electrode plates is the sound of electrons passing through them. This sound varies depending on various factors, such as the condition of the electrode plates and humidity; however, there is no correlation between the output from the device and the volume of the sound. Furthermore, it does not directly affect the device’s therapeutic performance.

If you suspect that the device may not be outputting energy, please use the Energy Check function to verify this.

What is the service life of the output plate?

We recommend replacing it once a year.

The insulating coating on the output plate AC gradually deteriorates with use. In our in-house durability tests, the insulating coating on the output plate AC failed after approximately 1,000 hours of continuous operation (continuous use). Furthermore, deterioration may accelerate depending on factors such as indoor humidity and the condition of the plates.

In light of the above points, the fact that many customers use the therapy device frequently, and the belief that excessive deterioration of the AC insulating coating on the output electrode plate has a significant impact on treatment effectiveness, we have decided to recommend replacing it once a year.

In addition to the above , if any of the plates—including the output plate AC—are damaged (e.g., damage to the cable sheath, a broken cable, or a damaged plate plug), this may prevent the device from functioning properly or from providing safe treatment; therefore, please replace them with new ones immediately.

To purchase, please visit the online store listed below, or contact a retailer or Reltech.

Why must the AC output plate and the 0V YD/BD plate not come into contact during treatment?

The device operates by applying an electrical potential to the body via the output electrode AC, and then extracting that potential via the other 0V electrode (YD/BD). This is because if the output electrode AC and the 0V electrode (YD/BD) come into contact during treatment, the electrical potential is discharged without passing through the body, which reduces the therapeutic effect.

About Accessories (Energy Check, etc.)
Even when I check the plates using the Energy Check, it doesn't display "OK."

Is the output setting set to "Output 1" or "Output 2"?

After setting the output to "Output 1 + 2," please check it using the Energy Check function.

Have you touched the electrodes inserted into the Energy Check?

After inserting the electrode into the Energy Check, remove your hand from the electrode and activate the Energy Check.

Are you using the Energy Check on a level surface?

Please activate the Energy Check on a level surface.

Aren't you checking it over and over again?

If you perform the inspection repeatedly, the Energy Check may become charged and stop displaying “OK.” Please wait a while before performing the inspection again.

Can I check for plate degradation using Energy Check?

I can't confirm that.

The Energy Check is designed to verify whether the unit is producing output.
It is not intended to check the wear or deterioration of the electrode plates .
The volume of the sound coming from the electrode plates varies depending on the environment and other factors, so it should not be used as a criterion for determining output.

I hear a high-pitched whining sound coming from the AC adapter. Is the unit itself okay?

This is a phenomenon commonly known as "coil noise," and it does not pose a safety risk to the unit.

This is commonly referred to as “coil hum” and occurs to some extent due to vibrations in the coils or transformers used in AC adapters.
Please rest assured that this is not a malfunction.

Furthermore, AC adapters have obtained product safety certification under the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act, and compliant products display the Specific Electrical Appliance Mark, so there are no safety concerns .
If this bothers you, we recommend using an extension cord to keep the AC adapter away from your ears.

Do I have to use an insulating mat? How should I use it?

The use of an insulated mat is a prerequisite for electrotherapy.

Without using the insulating mat, an electric field (a space with an applied voltage) cannot be generated around the body, and the potential therapy function will not work. Therefore, please use the insulating mat. On the other hand , the power supply function which is separate from the potential therapy function is not believed to be affected by the use of the insulating mat.

Please note that regardless of the treatment position—whether supine, seated, or otherwise—and regardless of whether a blanket or similar item is placed on top of the insulating mat during treatment, an electric field is expected to be generated as long as neither the body nor the blanket extends beyond the edges of the insulating mat. Therefore, there are no restrictions on the treatment position in this regard. However, from the perspective of promoting the circulation of the supplied electrons throughout the body via the bloodstream, we recommend treatment in the supine position.

How do I care for an insulated mat? Can I wash it in the washing machine?

Do not wash in a washing machine.

While the material used in insulated mats is not necessarily unsuitable for machine washing, it does not absorb moisture easily, which could cause the washing machine to malfunction. Therefore, we recommend the following care instructions.

  1. Wipe it dry with a soft cloth.
  2. If the stain is difficult to remove, wipe it with a cloth dampened with a neutral detergent, then let it air dry thoroughly in the shade.
Other
How much does it cost to run the therapy device?

Assuming 5 treatment sessions per day, with each session lasting 30 minutes (2.5 hours of use per day), the monthly electricity cost is
1. Mi Energy (Power consumption: approx. 20W): approx. 47 yen
2. Reltech MD21 (Power consumption: approx. 2W): approx. 5 yen
3.MSD RelTec (Power consumption: approx. 3W): approx. 7 yen
4. HD21 (Power consumption: approx. 2W): approx. 5 yen
5. HsD (Power consumption: approx. 3W): approx. 7 yen

*Calculated based on an electricity rate of 31 yen per kWh. However, this may vary depending on your utility company and the electricity rate plan you have contracted.

Is it okay to undergo treatment while wearing metal necklaces, watches, and rings?

The treatment device works by applying an electrical potential to the body via the output electrode (AC), and then extracting that potential via the other 0V electrode (YD/BD).
If the output electrode (AC) or the 0V electrode (YD/BD) comes into contact with a ring or other item during treatment, the electrical potential will be diverted without passing through the body, reducing the treatment’s effectiveness. Therefore, please remove any jewelry or other items that may come into contact with the electrodes before treatment. Alternatively, please keep them as far away as possible during treatment.

Is it okay to turn the power on and off using the switch on the extension cord?

We do not recommend turning the unit on or off using the extension cord’s switch while the main unit is already on , because you may not be able to tell whether the power is on (as indicated by the LED), read the display, or hear the sound, and there is a risk of electric shock if you touch the electrodes after the unit has started operating.
